Amber finished with a smile! :)Saturday, Amber and Brian (friends from OCU), flew into Monterey. 4 am on Sunday morning, I dropped Amber off at a location where she could get bussed down to Big Sur. She finished the marathon in 5 hrs and 7 minutes! She's never done a marathon before and she does one of the hardest marathons ever! And, she's from Abilene, TX where it's as flat as it can be...how do you train for Hurricane Point??? She did a awesome job!! My sister and I did the 9-mile walk and Brian, Amber's husband, ran the 5K. We all were able to cheer Amber on as she ran across the finish line. We walked around the mall to keep the blood from pooling in her legs and then watched 88 Minutes (an Al Pacino movie). The next day, they went whale watching. Unfortunately, Amber was sea-sick and didn't get to see much. Then, for dinner we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Hula's. Tuesday, they went to the Aquarium and then I took them to REI, the Gilroy Outlets, and for the first time they tried In-and-Out Burger. I had a great time with my old friends!! I can't wait for them to come and visit Monterey again! :)
